"Keeping Warm"

This is an ACEO in acrylic and up for auction in my store DreamHorseGallery - Just listed tonight. The little rabbit is staying out of the wind and keeping warm in the shelter of a tree. I've been thinking a lot about the little creatures living outside in the cold winter months. I think it's because of our chickens - I worry about the nights getting colder. They do have a snug house and I keep their waterer filled with warm water - but still... winters around here are bitter.

Another ACEO, "Winter in the Country", sold today and the buyer was very sweet in complimenting my work. This time of year I tend to feel down and there is always too much month at the end of the money, so kind words really brighten my day. - Joyce Brandon

"Cottontail"

I just listed him in DreamHorseGallery. As with "Buckskin Arabian" this is a 5"x3" wood plaque, painted in acrylics, with a glossy varnish and ready to hang. I love this bunny. I kept thinking about "The Velveteen Rabbit" as I painted. My mom read that story to us and I still can't get through it without crying. - Joyce Brandon

"Winter in the Country"

This is my latest ACEO, a winter landscape. I'm starting to feel Christmas in the air and so are the kids! They can hardly wait. Bionicles and play kitchen sets are high on Santa's list for our house.

"English Pointer - Looking Back" (ACEO hunting dog) is already getting attention in my
eBay store and my other winter landscape "Peace and Tranquility" sold to a collector in Canada. I've painted a special ACEO for this buyer - they have been a great customer and are supportive of other ACEO artists. Here is the "thank you" Art Card:

"English Pointer - Looking Back"

Hunting season has arrived and my husband has been going out with some of the local farmers. We've seen some beautiful sporting dogs since moving out to the country. These dogs are so excited and ready to do the jobs they were bred for. I love watching them as they first arrive in the fields around our home - they run circles around the trucks and the hunters until it's time to head out and they frequently glance back at their people as if to say "Are we ready now? Can we go? Let's go!"

I thought I'd dedicate a few ACEO's to the sporting dogs. I love the spirit of the retrievers, pointers, spaniels and setters. This piece is my first and is currently listed at auction in my store Check back for more! - JoyceB

"Fjord in the Foxtails"

"Fjord in Spring"

I've had a repeat customer on eBay. Must be a Fjord horse lover! They purchased "Fjord in the Foxtails" and I painted "Fjord in Spring" as a thank you. I'm getting ready to start on more plaques for my store and I have a big Christmas card project with ACEOs I need to work on.

On a sad note - we lost 2 more chickens last night. Something is getting into the coop & hen house. We had done wonderfully all spring and summer. Now in a week we've had 3 chickens killed. We are down to 4 hens and a rooster. - Joyce Brandon

I'm so tired today. Homeschooling, gingerbread men, bank, post office, pharmacy, grandpa's house, grocery shopping, 1 hour drive each way, unload grocerys & put away, make lasagna, work on a painting.... I did get to sit still and watch Lost & Invasion - our whole family loves these shows. Now I'm getting ready to make my husband's coffee for tomorrow. I am SO ready for bed. I wish I could get by on just 4 hours. - Joyce Brandon

"Christmas Beardie"

A bearded collie - I first met a beardie back in Stillwater, Oklahoma. There was a show and a very nice breeder from Colorado introduced me to her sweeties.

My "Fjord in the Foxtails" ACEO sold today. I also sent off one of my Shire ornaments - a gift for the customer's young niece who is in love with the gentle giants. This is the note card I painted for her as a thank you. Animal lovers are some of my favorite people.

"Peace and Tranquility"

The weatherman is calling for snow. Someday soon our little house in the country will be surrounded with quiet drifts and swirling snow flakes. We can feel the holidays coming!

"Peace and Tranquility" is an original acrylic ACEO. It's available in my store DreamHorseGallery or you can find it by searching eBay for JoyceB.
